ABOUT ME
My love of ceramics is deeply rooted in my childhood visits to London's prestigious museums, like the Victoria & Albert Museum and the British Museum. The diversity of shapes, colours, and styles of the ceramics I encountered there sparked my imagination and guided me through historical epochs. Pottery, one of the oldest forms of art, captivated me early on.
My pottery journey began with the first series of ‘The Great Pottery Throwdown’. Inspired by the show and lacking the opportunity to work with clay during my school years, I signed up for an evening class at my local Adult Education Centre. It wasn't long before I outgrew these classes, prompting me to invest in my own kiln and set up a home studio. This passionate pursuit now occupies three sheds, a cupboard under the stairs, and my dining room.
Pottery is an expensive hobby, so I started selling some of my creations to help fund my continued exploration of ceramics. Still enthralled by clay's versatility, I enjoy experimenting with various forms, textures, and designs, not yet settled on a single style.
Balancing my creative endeavours, I am a proud mother of two wonderful boys and work full-time managing the Information and Advice Team for a local branch of a national older person's charity.
