KILN RENTAL

Renting out my kiln is a wonderful opportunity for those who are passionate about ceramics but lack the means or space to invest in their own equipment. I understand that purchasing a kiln can be a significant financial burden, and finding the space to accommodate one can be equally challenging. By offering my kiln for rent, I hope to remove these barriers and make the joy of creating ceramic art accessible to more people. Whether you're an experienced artist or a beginner eager to explore the world of ceramics, my kiln is available to help you bring your artistic visions to life.

Working with clay offers tremendous mental health benefits, similar to other art forms. The process of shaping and moulding clay can be incredibly therapeutic, helping to reduce stress and promote mindfulness. By providing access to a kiln, I aim to support the mental well-being of individuals in my community, giving them the tools they need to engage in this rewarding and calming activity. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from creating ceramic art, and renting out my kiln is one way I can contribute to this vision.

My kiln is a Rohde Ecotop 60 S Pottery Kiln and it is currently one of the most economical kilns on the market and features a new and unique insulation concept that allows for very high energy efficiency.

• Maximum temperature: 1320°C

Bisque Firing - £30 for a full kiln or £15 for a shelf

Earthenware Glaze Firing - £35 for a full kiln or £20 for a shelf

Stoneware Glaze Firing - £40 for a full kiln or £20 for a shelf

Porcelain Glaze Firing - £45 for a full kiln or £25 for a shelf

PLEASE NOTE:

• Pieces cannot be larger than 350mm x 400mm.

• There should be no glaze on the bottoms of the pieces.

• Pieces should be FULLY dried out before firing (failure to adhere to this may cause your piece to explode during firing and could damage my kiln).

• No personally sourced clay please, just commercial clay.
